Bradley Holzapfel, our beloved son and brother, passed away peacefully in his home on Feb. 26, 2016, at the age of 21.

Bradley is survived by his father, Kip Holzapfel; mother, Kelly Gawne; and sister, Madalyn Holzapfel; grandparents, Colleen and Mark Charles; David Williams, his aunts, Carolyn Zader, Clarice Kaltinick, Andrea Clark and his Uncle Paul Williams.

Bradley was born June 11, 1994, in Jackson, Mich., to Kip and Kelly. He graduated from Columbia Central High School in 2012. After moving to Ann Arbor, Bradley began working for Joe’s Crab Shack and continuing his education at Eastern Michigan University, with aspirations to obtain a nursing degree. Bradley was an extremely talented pianist, finding peace and solace in the art. He had the ability to make a tremendous impact on the lives of others, even in a short period of time, and will be remembered for his welcoming heart, his exuberant personality and his brilliant smile.

A memorial service is scheduled for March 12 at 11 a.m., at Brooklyn Presbyterian Church, with a reception to follow. Prior to the service, from 9 to 11 a.m., the church will be open for a time of remembrance. The Rev. Frank Rupnik will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Bradley’s life. In lieu of flowers, we are making arrangements for donations to go to the Columbia Music Association in memory of Bradley’s love for the band and music.
