Phyllis Arlene McCloe

Her legacy . . . Phyllis Arlene McCloe, age 83, passed away Feb. 27, 2016, under the loving care of her family. She was born Aug. 2, 1932, in Prattville, Mich., to Lawrence and Lela (Cisco) Zimmerman. Phyllis was the youngest of seven children. She married the love of her life, William Richard McCloe, Feb. 13, 1952, in Adrian, Mich. In her spare time, Phyllis enjoyed gardening, picking apples, writing letters, and sending cards. Most importantly, she loved spending time with her family. Phyllis will be remembered as a hard worker, devoted mother and grandmother, role model, and loving friend.

Her family . . . Phyllis leaves behind her husband of 64 years, Richard; children, Diane (Ken) Lowry, Garry (Ann) McCloe and Bill McCloe Jr; 13 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents and six siblings.

Her farewell . . . Family and friends will gather Tuesday, March 1, 2016, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Borek Jennings Funeral Home, Braun Chapel, in Brooklyn, Mich. Phyllis’ community farewell will be Wednesday, March 2, 2016, at 11 a.m. at Borek Jennings Funeral Home, Braun Chapel, with a gathering beginning at 10 a.m. until the time of service. She will be laid to rest at Waldron Cemetery in Waldron, Mich.
