Gerald G. Micol

 

Gerald G. Micol, 87, of Addison, Mich., passed away on Tuesday, April 16, 2019, at Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice Home in Jackson, Mich. He was born on March 4, 1932, in Plymouth, Mich., to William P. and Ethel M. (Brown) Micol. He married Eleanore L. Rutherford on September 22, 1951, in Plymouth, and she preceded him in death on November 20, 2018. Gerald lived his early life in Plymouth where he graduated from Plymouth High School and he then lived the past 51 years in Addison. He was an engineer at the Ford Motor Company in Saline for 37 years, retiring in 1996. Gerald was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the United States Army for two years. He was a member of the NRA, the American Legion Post #0225 in Lansing. He enjoyed Tai-Chi and traveling all over the U.S. with his family showing their horses. He was a very family-oriented man, and a loving and dedicated husband.

Gerald is survived by two daughters, Lisa G. (Bill) Osborne of Manitou Beach and Kristen (Harold) Baker of Manitou Beach; two sons, Gerald G. Micol, Jr. of Addison and Lawrence (Linda) Micol of Clarklake; five grandchildren, Curtis, Carrie, Kimberly, Kevin, and Sean Micol; eight great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and one brother.

Cremation has taken place. A private burial of his ashes will take place at Green’s Lakeside Cemetery in Manitou Beach at a later date.

Arrangements were entrusted to the Brown-Van Hemert Funeral Home in Addison. Memorial contributions are suggested to Henry Ford Allegiance Health Hospice at 100 E. Michigan Ave., Ste. 400, Jackson, MI 49201.
