Richard Flynn

His legacy . . . Richard Flynn, 83, passed away, April 20, 2019, in Jackson, Mich. Richard was born in Detroit, Mich., on September 18, 1935, to Gerald and Georgina (Baudoin) Flynn. He married the love of his life, Ruth Walsh, January 28, 1956, at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Detroit. Richard was a graduate from Henry Ford Trade School and was a member of St. Rita’s Catholic Church. Richard is retired from Ford Motor Co. and owned and operated Budget Auto Parts in Dearborn Heights. He is an adopted Spartan Alumni, and past president of Mirror Lake Association and the Henry Ford Trade School Association, and a member of the Society of Engineering Office Workers. Richard loved golf, hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren was his greatest joy.

His family . . . Richard will be missed by his wife, Ruth; his children, Richard (Karen) Flynn, Brian (Roberta Hunter) Flynn, and John (Jeanne) Flynn; grandchildren, Ashleigh, Matthew, Hillarie, Aaron, Kethry, Ceridwyn, Fiona; brothers, Don Flynn and Earl Flynn; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Gerald, Tom and James and sisters, Virginia and Betty.

His farewell . . . Richard’s family and friends will gather from 4-8 p.m., Thursday, April 25, 2019, at Borek Jennings Funeral Home, Braun Chapel with a 7:30 p.m. rosary. Richard’s Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, April 26, at 11 a.m. at St. Rita’s Catholic Church, gathering beginning at 10 a.m. Father Tom Helfrich, OSFS.
