Helen Virginia Goddard

 

Her legacy . . . Helen Virginia Goddard, 81, passed away April 17, 2019. She was born on May 15, 1937, in Hamilton, Ala., to Hiram and Ouida (Stanford) Knight. Helen married the love of her life, Franklin Goddard, on September 1, 1956, in Tecumseh, Mich. Helen was a member of the Church of Christ in Adrian and Ocala, Fla., where she and her husband wintered. She was also a member of the former Irish Hills Women’s Club and Red Hat’s Society of Ocala. Helen enjoyed needlework, doing cross stitching and scrapbooking. She will be dearly missed by her family and all who knew and loved her.

Her family . . . Helen will be missed by her husband, Frank; her children, Rebecca (Allan) Vesely, Kevin (Myra) Goddard, David Goddard, Doug (Tikdem) Goddard; nine grandchildren, Danielle, Acacia (Brian), Chelsea, Michael, Adrienne, Matthew, Morgan, Theodore and Abigail; and a sister, Peggy (Buster) Hocutt. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Anthony and daughter, Cynthia.

Her farewell . . . Helen’s family and friends will gather Thursday, April 25, 2019, from 3:30–8 p.m. at Borek Jennings Funeral Home, Braun Chapel in Brooklyn where her farewell will be held on Friday, April 26, 2019, at 2 p.m. She will lie in state from 1 p.m. until time of service with burial following at Highland Cemetery in Brooklyn.
