Margaret ‘Maggie’ Bendele

Margaret “Maggie” Bendele, age 79, of Brooklyn, passed away April 19, 2016. Margaret was born Feb. 17, 1937, in Hume Township, Mich., the daughter of John and Lucille (Moore) Bolda.

Margaret retired as the secretary for St. Joseph Shrine Catholic Church in 1994 after 15 years of service. She was a member of St. Joseph Shrine Catholic Church, Brooklyn, and St. Rita’s Catholic Church, Clarklake.

Margaret is survived by her children, David (Pam) Bendele of Brooklyn, Bernadette (Michael) Frost of Clarklake, Mary (Keith) Frost of Brooklyn, and Joseph Bendele and his wife of Brooklyn; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and her brother, William (Patricia) Bolda of Port Austin, Mich. Margaret was preceded in death by two great-grandsons, Donald and Keagan Bendele; her brother, John Bolda; and her sister, Helen Ide.

Visitation for Margaret will be held Friday, April 22, 2016, from 11 a.m. until the time of her funeral mass at noon at St. Joseph Shrine Catholic Church, Brooklyn. Burial will be in St. Joseph Shrine Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Margaret’s name may be directed to Great Lakes Caring Hospice or the American Diabetes Association.
