John Michael ‘Johnny Mac’ McCormick, 54 of Jerome, passed away Saturday, April 15, 2017, at Henry Ford Allegiance Health in Jackson, from injuries sustained from a motorcycle accident.

He was born on Oct. 11, 1962, in Wabash, Ind., to Jenney L. Janiszyn and adopted by James W. McCormick. John lived in the Jerome area since 1976. He Attended North Adams Schools. He was a veteran of the United States Army. John worked for Maschino Mobile Home Movers of Pittsford. He was a member of the Iron Coffins Motorcycle Club of Jackson. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, enjoyed playing pool and riding his Harley.

Surviving is one son, Shane Michael Padgett and Chelsea of Hartland, Mich.; one daughter, Rachel McCormick of Grand Ledge, Mich.; his mother, Jenney Stros of Jerome; one sister, Jamie (Kevin) Dospoy of North Adams; six grandchildren, his brothers and their family members of the Iron Coffins, especially his special brother “Bull,” John’s son’s mother, Robin Padgett of Dearborn, many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, James McCormick, maternal grandmother, Mary Janiszyn, paternal grandparents, Mildred Madonna and James Ernest, and one uncle, Robert McCormick.

Cremation has taken place. A memorial benefit dinner will be held Saturday, April 29, 2017, from 5 p.m. until ??, at the Iron Coffins Clubhouse, 4101 Page Ave., Michigan Center, MI 49254. A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.
