Joan Lee (Linderman) Cark

Joan Lee (Linderman) Cark died peacefully on January 8, 2021, at age 84. She was the daughter of William H and Marjorie L. Linderman born on July 16, 1936, in Dayton, Ohio, and is preceded in death by her parents, spouse Gerard Cark and sister, Doris Jean (Jeannie) Campbell.

She attended Roosevelt High School in Dayton, Ohio and went on to attend Bowling Green State University where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Physical Education. After graduation, she taught at Fremont Elementary School in Fremont, Ohio where she met and married her husband of 51 years.

They went on to have five children and raised them in the Irish Hills of Michigan. She traveled the country with her husband and could be found enjoying bluegrass music everywhere they went. After Gerard’s death in 2010, she resided in New Smyrna Beach, Fla., until February 2020 when she moved back to Ann Arbor, Mich.

She is survived by sisters, Linda Diers of St. Marys, Ohio and Debra Parker of Franklin, Ohio; daughters, Kathryn Cark of Rockledge, Fla.; Lisa (Mike) MacDonald of Hersey, Mich.; Brenda (William) Tucker of Manitou Beach, Mich.; Patricia (Frank Vincent) Cark of Ann Arbor, Mich.; and son, Michael (Kerri) Cark of Eureka, Calif. She had great fun and shared joy with grandchildren, Millicent and Matthew MacDonald and Morgan and Michael Cark and they will miss her dearly. There are many nieces and nephews that she loved and enjoyed spending time with. She was a kind and giving woman and we were all blessed to know her.

Cremation has taken place and she will be buried along-side her husband at St. Joseph Shrine in the Irish Hills. A memorial service is being planned for the Spring of 2021.
