His legacy . . . James William “Jay” Gammon, age 76, of Brooklyn, passed away Aug. 8, 2016, at Henry Ford Allegiance Health. He was born in Fayetteville, Tenn., April 28, 1940, the son of Leslie and Mamie (Mitchell, Gammon) Scott. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1959 to 63. Jay married Judy Clark July 17, 1961, in Tennessee, and she survives. He was employed with the Ford Motor Co. on the assembly line and retired in 1994 after 30 years of service. In his free time, Jay enjoyed fishing and was a devoted hobby trucker. He was a member of the Irish Hills Eagles Aerie #3689.

His family . . . In addition to his loving wife, Jay is survived by his children, Debra (Martin) Wisniewski and Michael (Tina) Gammon; grandchildren, Jayme, Martin II, Nicholas, Erik, Holly and Tracey. He was preceded in death by his son, Douglas Gammon, on Feb. 4, 2003.

His farewell . . . Jay’s family will greet friends Thursday, Aug. 11, 2016, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 5 to 8 p.m. at the Borek Jennings Funeral Home, Braun Chapel. On Friday, family and friends will gather at 9 a.m. at the funeral home until the time of service at 10 a.m. with Deacon Chris Vida officiating.      In honor of Jay, memorial donations may be shared with the family for future designation.
