Ida J. Brown, age 80, of Brooklyn, passed away Monday, Jan. 11, 2016, at Lynwood Manor in Adrian. She was born Feb. 27, 1935, in Addison, the daughter of Harold L. and Mauretta L. (Day) McBean. Ida married Carl E. Hanna Aug. 26, 1953, and he preceded her in death Sept. 6, 1995. She married Russell V. Brown Aug. 9, 1997, and he survives. Ida enjoyed needlepoint, baking wedding and graduation cakes and loved to cook.
Surviving besides her husband, Russell of Brooklyn, are sons, Skip (Pam) Hanna of Clayton and Robert Hanna of Detroit; stepchildren, Mike (Deborah) Brown of St. Joseph, Dale (Janet) Brown of Wellington, New Zealand, and Doreen (Joseph) Urso of Algonac; six step-grandchildren; one brother, L. Daniel (Sharron) McBean of Brooklyn; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Hanna; her parents; and sister, JoAnne Bulla.
Funeral services for Ida will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 14, 2016, at the Brown-Van Hemert Funeral Home in Hudson with Pastor Jeff Malin officiating. Private interment will follow at Green’s Lakeside Cemetery in Manitou Beach.
