Her legacy . . . Doris McClure, age 89, passed away Aug. 10 2016, at Lloyd Ganton’s Assisted Living. She was born April 11, 1927, in Jackson, the daughter of Harmon and Clara (Babcock) Moore. Doris was employed as a test driver at Michigan International Speedway for many years. She married Daryle McClure Nov. 8, 1947, and he preceded her in death in 1999. Doris led an active life. She enjoyed playing cards, trips to the casino with Ollie’s group, cruises and spending time at the Onsted Senior Center. Doris attended Heart O’ the Lakes United Brethren Church. She ran a successful cottage rental business for more than 50 years where her tenants became her extended family. Her zest for life and love for her family will always be remembered.

Her family . . . Doris is survived by her children, Sandy (Gerald) Stark and Larry (Deborah) McClure; grandchildren, Jodi Chaddock and Shelly (Micah) Murrell; great-grandchildren, Nathan and Jeremy Nichols, Ava Murrell.

Her farewell . . . Doris’ family will greet friends Saturday, Aug. 13, 2016, beginning at 2 p.m. until the time of service at 4 p.m. at the Borek Jennings Funeral Home, Braun Chapel, Brooklyn, with Pastor Dan Robelen officiating. In Doris’ honor, memorial donations may be shared with Onsted Senior Center. Interment will be held at Woodstock Cemetery at a later date.
