Brock Adam Rychener, 36, of Hudson, beloved son, brother, uncle, cousin, teacher, and coach, passed away Wednesday evening, May 11, 2016, at Henry Ford Allegiance Health in Jackson.

Brock was born Nov. 23, 1979, in Morenci, to Doug and Aris (Horwath) Rychener. He graduated from Hudson High School Class of 1998, and since receiving his degree in education from Eastern Michigan University, he has served as a physical education teacher at Hudson Area High School. He also was a junior varsity basketball coach at Columbia Central High School. He previously coached junior varsity football and was an assistant varsity baseball coach at Hudson Area Schools. Brock influenced the lives of countless young people, and will be sorely missed by his family, colleagues, players, and countless friends.

Surviving are his parents, Doug and Aris, of Lake LeAnn, Mich.; his brother, Jason (Shelley) Rychener of Dexter, Mich; two nephews, Ty and Gabe Rychener; his niece, Eve Rychener; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Jack and Lillian (Barshney) Horwath; his paternal grandparents, Lawrence and Irene (Murphy) Rychener; and his godmother, Milly Stoll.

A funeral service for Brock was held on Sunday, May 15, 2016, at 2 p.m. at Hudson High School, 771 N. Maple Grove Ave., with Pastor Scott Keen and Vince Huizenga officiating. A luncheon followed at the school immediately after the service, and burial at Waldron Cemetery. The family received friends for visitation on Saturday afternoon, from 2 to 8 p.m. at Hudson High School. The Rychener family is being served by the Eagle Funeral Home in Hudson.
