Brenda Sharleen (Janke) Mommers, age 71, of Brooklyn, Mich., passed away peacefully on July 25, 2016, at Henry Ford Allegiance Health of Jackson, surrounded by her family and friends. A series of medical conditions lead to her unfortunate and unexpected passing.

Although she enjoyed playing cards, bowling, bingo, cooking and dreaming of Iowa cornfields and farming, her greatest joy was the joy of giving. Her unselfish and blessing nature would ensure that all the needs of her family and friends were in the forefront of her own needs. No matter what the bumpy road of life tossed at her, she maintained a humble, grateful and uplifting attitude that radiated to all who knew her. Her true gift of life was the gift of love, compassion, hard work and family values.  She truly set the stage for many generations to follow.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Guillaume-Casper Mommers in 2008; her daughter, Debbie (Mommers) Dalles in 2005; parents, Paul Janke in 2001 and Marge Janke in 2005; nephew, Matt Janke in 2010; and nephew, Claude Sorgenfri-Janke in 2010. Brenda is survived by her eldest son Richard Mommers and his wife Melissa (Lindsay) of Pemberville, Ohio, and their four children William, Richard Jr., Nick and Justin; James L. Mommers and his wife Debbie (Lueder) of Onsted, Mich., along with their child Dylan and three stepchildren Mike, Nick and Mandy Ambs; John Mommers of Waldorf, Md., and his children Joshua and Melissa Mommers; Tammy (Mommers) Gada and her husband Dharmesh with their children Bryanne Gill and Priya and Aiden Gada; siblings, Dennis and Linda Janke of Birch Run, Mich., with daughter Stephanie; Tim and Pat Janke of Bridgeport, Mich., with their children Mark and Marci; Bryan and Barb Janke of  Neosho, Mo., with their children Teia and Sharon.
