With great sadness and joy, Judy was received peacefully into the Kingdom of Heaven May 19, 2016, at the age of 77, in Clearwater, Fla. She was born Aug. 14, 1938, to Russel H. and Lillian (Herzog) Williams of Old Orchard Toledo, Ohio. Judy attended Maumee Valley, Ottawa Hills High School and the University of Toledo receiving a degree in education in 1961.

Judy is survived by her husband of 53 years, Jay “Pete” Basinger of Toledo; along with four sons, Jay W. Basinger of Los Angeles, Calif., John D. Basinger of Pine, Colo., George T. Basinger of Denver, Colo., and James C. Basinger of Charlotte, N.C. along with seven grandchildren.  Judy is also survived by her two brothers, John R. Williams of Winter Park, Fla., and David L. Williams of Brooklyn, Mich.

Judy was a devoted wife and mother to her loving family. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends at the family’s cottage on Wamplers Lake in the Irish Hills of Michigan. Her interests included sailing, skiing, swimming and taking long walks as well as staying in touch with her childhood friends. Judy was a longtime member of Brooklyn Presbyterian Church in Brooklyn.
