Ruth Andrea Boley

Ruth Andrea Boley of Dallas, Texas, passed away Feb. 18, 2016, at the Methodist Richardson Medical Center in Richardson, Texas.

Ruth was born Dec. 31, 1945, in Toledo, Ohio, the daughter of Kenneth L. and Bernice (Myerholtz) Boley. Her family moved to Addison, Michigan when she was just a baby.

Ruth was a 1964 graduate of Addison High School. She played basketball and was a member of the marching band. Ruth graduated from the University of Michigan in 1968. She was most proud of her M-Club affiliation, as she played on the University’s first women’s basketball team.

In 1968, Ruth was employed by Dunn & Bradstreet in Toledo, Ohio. Ruth relocated with the company to Lima and Cincinnati, Ohio, Rochester, N.Y., Boston, Mass., Hartford, Conn., and San Francisco, Calif. Ruth became a regional vice president with the company.

In 1987, Ruth retired and made Dallas her home. She most enjoyed travelling to Michigan in the springtime and holidays, visiting her mother and family. Ruth was a member of Addison Congregational Church.

Ruth is survived by her brothers, Richard (Judy) Boley of Scottsdale, Ariz., Roger Boley of Tecumseh, Mich; sister, Beth Decker of Addison, Mich; 12 nephews and nieces, Ken Boley, Steve Boley, Steve Behnke, Stacey Wagner, Stephanie Jedele, Brett Boley, Tyler Boley, John Decker, Marcia Rubley, Lisa Bellfy, Jane Branch and James Decker II; and also her best friend, her dog Tess.

Ruth’s family is most appreciative of her wonderful friends in Dallas who were with Ruth in her final hours.

Cremation has taken place. A memorial service for Ruth will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Addison Schools Foundation, P.O. Box 392, Addison, MI 49220. Arrangements are entrusted to the Brown-Van Hemert Funeral home in Addison.
