Jeffrey Stephen Zaszczurynski

Jeffrey Stephen Zaszczurynski, 25, of Brooklyn, Michigan passed away Tuesday, March 29 at home, due to complications from epileptic seizures, which he had suffered from since he was 10.

Jeff was born Feb. 9, 1991 at University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor, to Janet (Hicks) Zaszczurynski and Stephen Zaszczurynski. Steve preceded Jeff in death in 2001,

Jeff is survived by his mom, Janet Zaszczurynski of Brooklyn; a brother, Jacob (Sarah Goodwin), of Grand Valley; one sister, Jessica of Brooklyn; his paternal grandparents, Hank and Barb Zaszczurynski of Brooklyn, five aunts, Linda Hicks, of Brooklyn, Lorrie Malesko, of Tawas City, Nancy Hicks, of New York City, Mary Graham (Ed Phelps), of Ypsilanti, and Cindy Hicks of Addison. He also has numerous cousin that survive.

Jeff attended Columbia Schools, and then Mott Community College in Flint, Mich. He was a fun loving kid with a huge heart. If somebody needed something and he had it, it would be theirs. He loved all kinds of music, and played the trumpet in high school band. He loved sports, video games and nature. He loved America, both its history and future, was very passionate about his political beliefs, and wasn’t shy about letting others know his feelings. Facebook will be lonely without him!!

Jeff was preceded in death by his dad, Steve; his maternal grandparents, David and Jeanette Hicks; his aunt, Cathy and uncle Jim Zaszczurynski; uncles David, Danny, Jeff, Jimmy, and Johnny Hicks, Mike Malesko; and with two cousins.

Jeff has been cremated per his wishes. His memorial service will be Tuesday, April 5, 2016, at 2 p.m. at the American Legion in Brooklyn, with a gathering an hour before, and a luncheon to follow.
