James R. Herzberg

1070519f-7f52-427d-a495-0d77e60e425c[1]James R. Herzberg, age 71, of Napoleon Township, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2015, at Allegiance Health.

Jim is survived by his wife of 50 years, Janet R. (Murphy) Herzberg; two daughters, Amy (David) Pulka and Jennifer (Chris) King, both of Brooklyn; five grandchildren, Benjamin, Robert and Jaclyn Pulka, Alexis and Makenna King; sister, Claudine (Arthur) Rowe of Jackson; sisters-in-law, Marlene and Karen Herzberg; many nieces and nephews; and his faithful canine companion, Daisy.  He was preceded in death by three brothers, Rudy, Harvey and Gary Herzberg; and one sister, Aletha Wolfe.

Jim retired from Production Engineering as a machinist; for many years was a volunteer with the Napoleon Township Fire Department; and at one time was a sheriff department reserve deputy.  He and his wife formerly owned and operated Sunset Gardens Greenhouse.

Cremation has taken place and a remembrance luncheon will be held at Gene Davis Banquet Center, 3575 Francis Street, Jackson, Saturday Jan. 9, 2016, from 1 to 4 p.m.  For those who wish, contributions in his memory may be given to the charity of one’s choice.
