Charles D. Richardson

Charles D. Richardson Sr., age 79, of Greenville, Mich., formerly of Brooklyn, passed away Feb. 28, 2016.  Chuck was born Feb. 13, 1937, in Wyandotte, the son of Park and Florence (Cole) Richardson. He married Rhoda Gregory May 3, 1957, in Alameda, Calif., and she survives.

Chuck was a member of the Cornerstone Community Church in Brooklyn. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1955 to 1959. Chuck retired as a firefighter from the city of Westland in 1987 after 25 years of service and was a realtor for 18 years for several local real estate firms in the Irish Hills area.

Besides his wife Rhoda, Chuck is survived by his children, Connie (Paul) Chappell of Florence, S.C., Cynthia (Randy) Miller of Greenville, and Charles Richardson Jr. of Winter Park, Fla.; 12 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; his brother, Park (Shirley) Richardson Jr. of Naples, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.  Chuck was preceded in death by his two sisters, Helen Sprinkle and Anna Lou Behm.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 12, 2016, at Cornerstone Community Church, Brooklyn, with pastor John Masters officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.  Memorial donations in Chuck’s memory may be directed to the Cornerstone Community Church, Brooklyn.
